Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret M. Stellon, 94, a resident of Davenport, will be Friday, April 15, 2011 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Davenport.

Burial will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service on Friday at church. Margaret passed away Monday, April 11, 2011 at Ridgecrest Health Center, Davenport. Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Margaret Mary Stellon was born on November 26, 1916 in Bowesmont, North Dakota, a daughter of Guido and Margaret (Giacoma) Stellon.

Miss Stellon received her schooling in North Dakota, obtaining her Master’s Degree in Education and Economics and came to Davenport in 1946 to teach school. She taught Jr. High School until 1955. Margaret was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal from 1955 to 1969 as a statistical and accounting clerk. She also worked for Blackhawk Films in the accounting department from 1969 to 1977. From 1977, Margaret has served on the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) Tax Aide Staff. She was a life member and past treasurer of Pi Lambda Theta, a member of the National Association of Federal Employees and, since 1954, has been a past secretary and member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Davenport. Margaret also enjoyed many hobbies, including playing Bridge.

Memorials may be made to the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Building Fund.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister and several cousins. May they rest in peace.
