DUBUQUE – Sister Mary Immacula DeVlieger, BVM, 78, who taught in the Davenport Diocese, died April 10 at Marian Hall, Dubuque.

She was born in Chicago on Sept. 20, 1932 and entered the Sisters of Charity, BVM congregation Sept. 8, 1950. She professed first vows on March 19, 1953, and final vows July 16, 1958.

Sr. DeVlieger taught elementary school at St. Paul the Apostle(1953–57) and St. Anthony (1965–68) in Davenport, and at St. Irenaeus (1968–77) in Clinton. She also taught in Chicago and Memphis. While in Memphis she also was an administrative assistant, pastoral assistant and bookkeeper.

Funeral liturgy was celebrated April 14; burial was in Mount Carmel cemetery.
