Coralville — Catholic Daughters of the Americas will hold their 49th biennial Iowa State Convention April 29 to May 1 at the Holiday Inn. The theme is “Renewed in the Spirit.” Speakers are Sister Charla Bulko of Dubuque and Larry Sholstrom of Iowa City. The Saturday evening banquet speaker is Tom Jacobs, a recording artist, retreat facilitator and storyteller from the Kansas City area. Rock Island, Ill. – A Holy Week retreat will take place at the Benet House Retreat Center, 2200 88th Ave. W., from April 21, 4 p.m., to April 24, 1 p.m. Participants will join the monastic community in silence, prayer and the solemn liturgies of the Last Supper, death and resurrection.
