Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Suzanne C. Gordon, 80, a resident of Bettendorf and Marco Island, Fla., will be 10 a.m. on Monday, May 16, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 417 Main St., Davenport. 

Rev. Tim Sheedy will celebrate the Mass.  Burial will take place in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport.  The family will greet friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, downtown Davenport.  Mrs. Gordon died peacefully Thursday, May 12, 2011 at her home in Bettendorf.

Suzanne Crystal Mueller was born September 15, 1930 in Davenport the daughter of Christian and Irma (Zoeller) Mueller.  She was educated at St. Katherine’s in Davenport, Linwood College in St. Charles, Missouri and the University of Iowa, Iowa City.  Sue was united in marriage to William P. Gordon on January 6, 1951 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport.  He preceded her in death December 24, 2006.

Sue was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many.  She was a member of St. Anthony’s Church, Davenport and San Marco Catholic Church, Marco Island, Florida and the FJ Chapter of PEO.  She was especially fond of reading thus leading her to join numerous book clubs.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Pathway Hospice, American Heart Association and the American Lung Association.

She is survived by her daughters Meg Priester, Long Grove, Julie (Patrick) Graham, Davenport; her son William F. (Kate) Gordon, LeClaire: three grandchildren Anthony (Carrie) Peet, Tori Peet, Morgan Priester; three great-grandchildren Lauren and Logan Peet, Zoey Zapatka.

In addition to her parents and her husband William; Sue was preceded in death by a sister Ellie Schick and a brother Augie Mueller.
