DAVENPORT — All Saints Catholic School students in Davenport participated in a poster contest for kindergarten through eighth-grade students. Posters could be made using any type of media, but needed to include the theme “All Saints is Going Green! 2011.”

Posters were judged by the K-8 teachers and staff during earth week last month, and students’ winning posters are on display in the school. Students submitted artwork using digital media, recycled newspapers, paint, markers and crayon in unique designs with a clear message that “We are the green stewards for our earth!”

Students received prizes donated by the Iowa Falls Plastic Recycling, Scott County Waste Commission’s Keep Iowa Beautiful program and the EPA.
