Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Ann Schloemer, 87, a resident of Davenport, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Davenport.
Burial will take place in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home. The family invites you to join them at 4:00 for a prayer service to begin the visitation. Mrs. Schloemer died Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the Kahl Home, Davenport after a brief illness.
Mary Ann Morris was born on March 12, 1924 in Menominee, Michigan, a daughter of Dr. Edward H. and Dr. Mary C. (May) Morris. She graduated from Marycrest College and did her graduate work at the University of Iowa. Mary Ann was united in marriage to Walter Schloemer on October 12, 1949 in Davenport. Mr. Schloemer preceded her in death on November 26, 1987.
Mary Ann was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, and a former member of the Catholic Service Board, Kappa Gamma, Beta Sigma Phi, Davenport Club, and The Outing Club. She enjoyed playing bridge, her volunteer work throughout the Quad Cities, especially her work at Cinderella Cellar, and her monthly lunches with her Marycrest classmates.
Memorials may be made to the Kahl Home or Holy Family Catholic Church.
Mary Ann is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Tammi Schloemer, Waterloo, and Kevin and Julie Schloemer, Davenport; and her six grandchildren: Leighanne, Joseph, Christopher, and Amanda Schloemer, and Tara and Anthony Gile; and the rest of the Schloemer clan.
