Davenport — The Sisters of Humility invite the general public to pray with them at 11:40 a.m. Wednesdays during a special Mass for peace. It will be celebrated in the Magnificat Chapel at the Humility of Mary Center, 820 W. Central Park Ave.

Fort Madison — Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be July 1 after 8 a.m. Mass at Ss. Mary & Joseph Church, closing with benediction at 8 p.m.

Fort Madison — A pro-life rosary will be recited July 2 across from Planned Parenthood at 22nd Street and Ave. H after 8 a.m. Mass at Sacred Heart Church.

Iowa City — Sister Theresa Kruml, OSU, is celebrating her 60th jubilee with Mass and renewal of vows at the 8 a.m. Mass July 10 at St. Wenceslaus Church. A reception will follow in the church hall. Iowa City — People meet to pray the rosary and receive Communion at 1 p.m. Wednesdays at Melrose Meadows Retire­ment Community. All Catholics are welcome.

Iowa City — Centering Prayer groups meet from 7-8 p.m. Mondays at the Mercy Hospital chapel, and from 9-11:30 a.m. the fourth Saturday of each month at a member’s home. For more information, call Maureen Kelley at (319) 338-8284.

Melrose — The Knights of Columbus of Albia sponsor a 24-hour adoration the first Friday of the month at St. Patrick Church in Melrose. Mass begins at 8 a.m., followed by 24 hours of adoration, and closes with benediction at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday. For more information or to sign up for an hour, call Tony Humeston at (641) 932-7709.

Bettendorf — St. John Vianney Parish is offering caregiver support meetings on the second Wednesday of the month from 1-2:30 p.m. Janet Rubelmann, a parishioner of St. John Vianney, is the support meeting facilitator. Moline, Ill. — The secular discalced Carmelite community of St. Joseph’s and the prophet Elijah meets the second Sunday of each month from 1-3:30 p.m. in the basement of St. Mary Church. For more information, call Leslie Schadt, OCDS, at (563) 370-3559.

Davenport — The resale shop Cinderella Cellar, 230 W. 35th St., is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Kahl Home for the Aged and Infirm. Cinderella Cellar is operated by volunteers from the Catholic Service Board.

Springbrook — Ss. Peter & Paul Parish’s chicken barbecue with a salad and dessert bar will take place July 17 from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Kilburg Hall. A half-chicken serving will cost $8, and a quarter-chicken serving will cost $7. An auction will take place at 1 p.m. The day will include games, a country store, music and prizes. Drawing for prizes will be at 6:30 p.m.

Sugar Creek — Ss. Mary & Joseph Parish will hold a lawn social Sunday, July 10, with a beef and pork dinner. Serving time is 3-8 p.m. Tickets for adults are $7 in advance and $7.50 at the door. Tickets are $4 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and younger. Carryouts are available. There will be games, prizes, a country store and refreshments. Kim and Rose Strait will provide violin music, and the Iowa Corn Fed Girls will perform. For  advance tickets call Elaine Burken at (563) 689-3105. The church is located at 3218 110th St., Preston.

Wellman — St. Joseph Parish will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the parish founding and the 50th anniversary of its existing church building next month. The celebration includes a float in the Fourth of July parade and a special rededication Mass at the church at 10 a.m. July 17, followed by a dinner and program for parishioners and guests at Parkside Activities Center. As part of this celebration, parish members are looking for names and addresses of any former parishioners, information, photos or memorabilia dealing with the history of the parish.
