Katherine E. Murphy, 71, a resident of Davenport passed away Friday, Aug. 26, 2011 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
A Mass of Christian burial was at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 29, 2011 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
Katherine Elizabeth Braden was born on November 11, 1939 in Davenport, a daughter of Patrick and Helen (Kostal) Braden. She was united in marriage to David V. Murphy on February 8, 1969 in Davenport. He preceded her in death on October 17, 1993.
Katherine enjoyed family and friends, her dogs, crocheting, gardening, bird watching, attending mass, and ceramics.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Katherine is survived by her sons, Patrick (Missy) Murphy, Davenport and Michael (Kerry) Murphy, Shakopee, MN; grandchildren, Steven, Amanda, Samantha, Maddie, Aaron, and Jake; sisters Joanne (Patrick) O’Connor, Davenport, and Carolyn (John) Slavish, Coal Valley, IL; and adopted sister, Carolyn Davis, Davenport. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband David, a sister, Rosemary McCann and a brother, Bernard Braden. May they rest in peace.
