Mount Pleasant parish to hold Autumn Festival

MOUNT PLEASANT — St. Alphonsus Parish will hold its Autumn Festival the weekend of Sept. 17-18. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m. only.

A country corner will be open from Saturday at 4:30 p.m. through Sunday at 3 p.m. A silent auction will run from Saturday at 5 p.m. through Sunday at 3 p.m.

A roast beef dinner with mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw or applesauce, rolls, desserts and beverages will be served Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Manning Hall. Cost is $8 for people ages 11 and older, $5 for children ages 6-10, and free for children 5 and younger.

A live auction begins Sunday at 12:15 p.m. until the last item is sold. Items include a vacation, plane tickets, tractor, boating party, furniture, quilts, electronics, Hawkeye football and St. Louis Cardinal baseball tickets, theme baskets and more. Raffle tickets are on sale at the parish office for a diamond marquee ring and for an iPad 2.

Day care, balloon animals, a clown and face painting will be available for children from noon to 4 p.m.
