DAVENPORT — Through the generosity of Circa ’21 Playhouse and Director Denny Hitchcock, a special performance of “Nanna’s Naughty Knickers” will benefit students majoring in theatre at St. Ambrose University.

The benefit event will take place Friday, Sept.16, beginning at 5:45 p.m. at the Circa ‘21 Dinner Playhouse at 828 Third Ave., Rock Island, Ill. Half of the house proceeds will go toward the Michael Kennedy Theatre Scholarship Fund, which provides an annual scholarship for a first-year student majoring in theater at SAU. Kennedy, for whom the scholarship was named, appears in the show as Nana Sylvia’s landlord, Mr. Schmidt.

The evening begins with a live auction on stage. Items for auction include tickets to a taping of Saturday Night Live and a personal welcome from SNL costumer (SAU grad and recent Emmy Award winner) Brian Hemesath, a resort weekend, restaurant dinner for four with Broadway Director Phil McKinley, and more.

Tickets are $46.39 each. To purchase tickets, call the Circa ’21 box office at (309) 786-7723, ext. 2, or go online to www.circa21.com. For more information on the scholarship or auction items, contact the St. Ambrose Alumni Office at (563) 333-6290.
