Church can’t afford to lose girl altar servers

Facebooktwittermail

I was surprised, angry and ashamed after reading the article (9/1/11 The Catholic Messenger) concerning the new policy in Phoenix that allows only boys to be altar servers.

There are so many things that I might say concerning this move, which I view as both spiritually inexcusable and as a step backwards that our Church cannot afford to take.

But I can abbreviate my feelings to this statement: if this were to happen in my parish, I would leave.
