Sister Lucia Kadolph (Sister Mary Lucia), 87, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011 at Bishop Drumm Retirement Center, Johnston. 

Visitation at the Humility of Mary Center, Magnificat Chapel, 820 W. Central Park Ave.,  Davenport is Tuesday, September 20; Rosary: 4:00; Vigil Service: 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass is Wednesday, September 21, 11:00 a.m. in Magnificat Chapel. Burial follows in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Davenport.  Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home is assisting her family with arrangements.

Elizabeth Margaret Kadolph was born November 17, 1923 to Raymond and Linda Granner Kadolph in Eldora, IA.  On January 8, 1944, she entered the Congregation of the Humility of Mary, professing vows on July 17, 1946.  She received her AA in Elementary Education from Ottumwa Heights College and BA from College of Great Falls in Montana.

During her life ministry she taught at Iowa schools in Cosgrove, Ottumwa (St. Mary), Des Moines (St. Anthony and St. Theresa), Marshalltown (St. Mary), and Davenport (John F. Kennedy) ; also Rock Island, IL (Jordan Catholic Central) and in Great Falls, MT (St. Mary and St. Joseph) and Lewistown, MT (St. Leo).  She retired to the Humility of Mary Center in 2005 and served as a volunteer, especially with Humility of Mary Housing and Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat.  Her gentle and uplifting spirit graced Bishop Drumm Retirement Center from 2010 until her death.

Sister Mary Lucia was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Edna Flanders and Audrey Kadolph.  She is survived by her brother Lawrence (Doris), Hubbard, IA, sisters Gail Lawler, Steamboat Rock, IA and Ruth Gogerty, Ames, IA, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as Sisters and Associates of her CHM community.

Memorials may be made to the Congregation of the Humility of Mary.
