Hills – A healing Mass with Msgr. Marvin Mottet, Father Troy Richmond and Father William Kneemiller will be celebrated Friday, Oct. 14, at St. Joseph Parish.  Confessions start at 6:30 p.m., and Mass begins at 7 p.m. All are welcome.

Houghton – A public square rosary crusade will be held Oct. 15 at noon at St. John’s. The crusade is coordinated nationally by Tradition, Family and Property and its America Needs Fatima campaign. Local organizer Marilyn Walljasper, quoting literature from the national campaign, said the United States is in great need of public prayer, repentance and conversion. “We must ask God to save America through the rosary of his most holy mother.” For more information about the Houghton rosary crusade, call Walljasper at (319) 470-6830.

Davenport – A spiritual growth group, The Virtues, is meeting on Wednesdays from 1–2:30 p.m. through Nov. 2 at Eagles’ Wings Retreat Center, 5816 Telegraph Road. Davenport – The Marycrest Alumni Asso­ciation will host Homecoming 2011 on Oct. 7-9. Festivities begin on Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. when alumni will meet at Kelly’s Circle Tap. An open house will be held Oct. 8 from 1-4 p.m. at the Marycrest Senior Housing Campus. Mass will be celebrated Oct. 9 at 10 a.m. at the Humility of Mary Center. Fort Madison – KDME Divine Mercy Radio is welcoming the Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, to an event from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, in McAleer Hall. The morning session will be Sanctification of Time. The afternoon session will focus on growth in virtue and vocations to religious life. The sacrament of reconciliation will be at 11:30 a.m. at Ss. Moline, Ill. – The Blessed John XXIII Fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order will hold a social evening of Italian treats, information and prayer on Monday, Oct. 3. Brooklyn – St. Patrick Parish’s bazaar and supper will take place Sunday, Oct. 2. The meal will be served from 3:30–6:30 p.m. and cost $8 for adults, $4 for children 12 and younger, and $1 for children 4 and younger. Carryouts will be available by calling (641) 522-7715 after 1 p.m. A raffle drawing will take place at 6 p.m. for prizes up to $100. A baked-goods booth, country store, farmers market and children’s grab-bag booth open at 2 p.m. The youth group will take orders for holiday wreaths.

Davenport – St. Anthony Parish will hold its first holiday bazaar on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 9, from 1-5 p.m. Baked goods, gifts, hand-made crafts and St. Anthony cookbooks will be available. For more information, call Mary Beth at (563) 391-4668.

Davenport — Cinder­ella’s Cellar has received a donation of designer clothing and accessories, most with original sales tags. Clothing is available at 230 W. 35th St. Hours are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit The Kahl Home for the Aged and Infirm.

Iowa City – St. Wenceslaus Parish’s fall turkey dinner will take place Sunday, Oct. 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults, $4 for children ages 4–10 and free for children younger than 4. Carryouts will be available at the south entrance of the parish hall from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Kolaches will be for sale. Ron Johnson and Jill VanDorpe will provide music.

St. Paul – The 60th annual God’s Acre Sale will be Saturday, Oct. 1, and Sunday, Oct. 2. The charity auction begins Saturday night with food served at 5 p.m., followed by a student vocal performance at 6 p.m. The auction will follow and resume on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. Dinner will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Baked goods will be in the country kitchen. Raffles will take place throughout the day for cash prizes.

West Burlington – Ss. Mary & Patrick Parish will hold its fall festival Sunday, Oct. 2, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event will include a pork and turkey dinner and country store with crafts and bakery goods. Raffles for a quilt and prizes up to $300 will take place. Necklaces made by Joan Wail will be for sale; proceeds support Santa Rosa de Lima Parish in Lurin, Peru.

Wellman — St. Joseph Parish’s annual fall pork loin and turkey dinner will be Sunday, Oct. 2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A country store will feature homemade noodles and kolaches. A live auction begins at 1:45 p.m. 

Wilton – St. Mary Parish’s fall dinner will take place Sunday, Oct. 2, at the parish hall, from 1-4 p.m. A ham and turkey dinner will be served; carryouts are available. A country store will offer crafts, grab bags and homemade treats. Cost is $8 for adults, $3 for children ages 5-12, and free for children 4 and younger.
