Presentation on health care law

DAVENPORT — Quad Cities Health Care Reform Forum, a task force associated with the Congregation of the Humility of Mary, Sisters of the Order of St. Benedict and Churches United of the Quad Cities, will host Rev. Linda Hannah-Walling, director of Faithful Reform in Health Care, for two events.

The first is an Oct. 27 public presentation at 7 p.m., Rogalski Center, St. Ambrose University, and the second is an Oct. 28 training workshop at Edwards United Church of Christ, Davenport, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Implementation of the Affordable Care Act.  

Rev. Walling is a national faith leader in the campaign to secure a universal insurance program and an advocate for justice in the health care industry.  She will speak on “The Heart in Health Care” at the public presentation Oct. 27 and will touch on issues concerning the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Individuals who would like to know more about health insurance or small businesses that want to know more about provisions of the law that may affect them are encouraged to attend.  

Workshops will be held Oct. 28 at Edwards United Church of Christ for persons who wish to be trained to inform churches and groups about the Affordable Care Act.  Participants need to register and pay $30.
