Nonviolence training slated in Clinton

CLINTON — The Clinton Franciscan Center for Active Nonviolence and Peacemaking has invited Father Peter Dougherty, founder of Michigan Peace Team, to lead a daylong nonviolence training workshop Nov. 12 at The Canticle, 841 13th Ave. N. He also will offer a public presentation, “Blueprint for a Nonviolent World,” at 7 p.m.

Michigan Peace Team is a group of trained persons based in Lansing, Mich., who have been present to defuse potentially violent situations around the world for nearly 20 years.

Registration for the Clinton workshop is limited to 25 persons. To participate, call (563) 242-7611 or email office@clintonfranciscans.com as soon as possible. A donation is requested to cover the cost of the program and meals.  The workshop will begin at 8:30 a.m. with breakfast and conclude at 5 p.m.
