Students explore plants

First-graders were happy to perform a readers’ theater for the student body. They read “From Seed to Plant,” an original reading by teacher Madelon Rounds. They did a fabulous job and are becoming excellent readers!

First grade is learning about plants in science.  Students have planted grass seed, and it is really growing! The first-grade classroom also has a variety of plants including a sweet potato vine, cactus and blooming plants. Students will have bulbs this winter. These different plants require different soil and growing conditions. The students are enjoying learning about plants.
