Davenport — On Nov. 30 at 7 p.m., best-selling novelist Bo Caldwell will deliver this year’s St. Ambrose University Baecke Endowment for the Humanities lecture in the Rogalski Center.

Burlington – The Des Moines County parishes will host a parish renewal Dec. 4-6. It will be conducted by Father Bob Miller from Chicago.  The sessions will be held at 7 p.m. at St. John Church, 700 Division St., Burlington, on Dec. 4; St. Paul’s Church, 508 N. Fourth St., Burlington, on Dec. 5; and Ss. Mary & Patrick Church, 420 W. Mt. Pleasant St., West Burlington on Dec. 6.

Davenport – A healing Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Cathedral Nov. 18. Confessions start at 6 p.m., praise music at 6:30 p.m. and Mass at 7:15 p.m. The themes are Advent preparation and healing of the family tree. All are welcome.

Iowa City – On Dec. 6 at 7 p.m., people across the nation, as well as in Lower City Park in Iowa City, will gather for a candlelight vigil to mourn the loss of a child.  After a few remarks, music and a moment of silence, attendees may leave a candle at a statue in remembrance of children. Buffalo – St. Peter Parish will hold a cookie walk Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to noon at the rectory, 406 Fourth St. Cost is $8 for a large container and $5 for a small container. There will be photos with Santa.

Davenport – Goodies and Gifts is the theme for the 2011 St. Paul the Apostle Holiday Bazaar.  The bazaar will be held Nov. 19 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Nov. 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parish center.  There will be desserts, coffee, cinnamon rolls and turkey stuffing sandwiches. On Saturday, artisan vendors and the holiday white elephant sale will be featured.

Davenport — The senior honors art exhibit will be in the Catich Gallery in the Galvin Fine Arts Center at St. Ambrose University Nov. 29 – Dec. 16 Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Thesis work by Adrianna Corby, Emma Farber and Rachel Friemel will be displayed.

Muscatine —Theology on Tap for young adults will take place Nov. 17 at Wine Nutz at 7 p.m. Dennis McDonald will speak on the new Roman Missal.

Toronto – St. James Parish will hold a community breakfast at the Toronto Fire Station Nov. 20 from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children 12 and younger, and free for preschoolers.
