As 2011 draws to a close, you may wish to assess your giving in relation to your taxes. Gifts must be transferred or postmarked by Saturday, Dec. 31, to qualify for a tax deduction in 2011.
You may wish to consider giving a larger gift to your parish, to the Annual Diocesan Appeal or to the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Davenport before the end of the year.

Appreciated stock makes a great gift and is easy to transfer electronically. Consult with your stock broker and don’t wait till the last minute!

Electronic giving is possible on the diocesan website. Go to www.davenportdiocese.org and click on online giving. This is a convenient way to give from your checking or savings account or with your credit card.  Again don’t wait till the last minute; these gifts could take a couple of days to process.

Act now to make certain you have accomplished your charitable goals for this year. Proper planning can result in maximum tax savings as well as helping your favorite charities meet their goals.
