Sixth-graders practice in the new band/music room.

Reading and math scores may be receiving all of the attention in the press these days, but the fine arts are still important to forming the whole student.  At John F. Kennedy Catholic School, the fine arts programs are stronger than ever.

Students in kindergarten to eighth grade at JFK receive 80 minutes of music instruction and 80 minutes of art class each week. Sixty percent or more of the fifth- to eighth-graders are also in band.

With special drama activities that feature each student and a five-hour talent show, every student at JFK has the opportunity to explore and perform his or her talents in front of others.
