Jill M. Weitz, 43, a resident of Bettendorf and a former resident of Placerville, California, died unexpectedly Friday, January 13, 2012 at her residence in Bettendorf.
There will be a prayer service and time of remembrance at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2012, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 4097 – 18th Street, Bettendorf. Cremation rites have been accorded and private burial will take place in California.
Jill Marie Weitz was born February 2, 1968 in Galesburg, Illinois a daughter of James and Jean Ann (Owens) Weitz.
She moved with her family to California as a young girl and was raised in California. She returned to the Quad City area in September of 2009. Jill has had a variety of jobs since returning to Bettendorf. She most recently worked at Los Amigos in Bettendorf. She had also been employed by Crossmark, Inc. and Maid-Rite.

Survivors include her mother and step-father, Jean and Jim Hatadis, Placerville, CA; her father, James Weitz, Hereford, AZ; a brother, Justin Weitz, CA; a niece and a nephew, her maternal grandfather, Robert G. Owens, Bettendorf; an uncle and aunt, James “Jim” and Alicia Owens, Bettendorf, and cousins, Michael “Mike” Owens, Royal Oak, MI; and Catherine “Cathy” Owens, Davenport.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Angeline Owens, in April 2010.
