Josephine A. Drish, age 94, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Jefferson County Health Center.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain, with Father Robert Striegel officiating. Cremation will be held after the service and burial of the cremains will be at a later date in St. Mary cemetery in Keota.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Memorials may be made to Jefferson County Health Center. Cards and memorials can be sent to 200 N. 28th St. #29, Fairfield, Iowa 52556.

Josephine was born on March 1, 1917 in Keota, to Peter and Sophie (Klett) Haupert. She married Joseph Stanley Drish on December 28, 1940. He passed away July 21, 1961.

She and her husband, Joe, farmed near Washington and East Pleasant Plain. She had worked at Jefferson County Health Center and Universal Producing and was retired from Harper Brush Works. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, shopping, yard work and watching basketball and baseball on television. She also liked to cook for family and friends, who enjoyed her homemade noodles, fried chicken and vegetable soup.

Josephine is survived by 4 children: Shirley (John) Crawford of Fairfield, Ron (Vicki) Drish of Clinton, Diana (Dean) Weber of Richland and Stan Breon-Drish of Ottumwa, 10 grandchildren: Myron Osborn, Dwight Osborn, Dennis Osborn, Amy Crawford, Derek Drish, Jeremy Drish, Janan Mueller, Jackie Weber, Bradyn Breon-Drish and Baryd Breon-Drish, 17 great grandchildren and 3 sisters: Virginia Striegel of What Cheer, Louise Linder of Sigourney and Margaret Carroll of Lake San Marcos, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 daughter: Mona Rae Adam, 3 sisters: Geneva Haupert, Gertrude Haupert and Martha Henderson and 1 brother: Charles Haupert.
