KEOTA-Mary Margaret (Masterson) Greiner, age 93, of Keota, died Monday, January 23, 2012, at Maplewood Manor in Keota.

Mary was born November 1, 1918 at Parnell, Iowa, the daughter of Patrick J. and Anna Neioma (Faas) Masterson. She graduated from Parnell High School in 1936 and from Mount Mercy Junior College in 1938. She married Raymond N. Greiner on June 19, 1941 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Parnell. The couple lived on the same farm two miles south of Keota on Highway 92 for 56 years before moving into Keota. Mary was a homemaker, a volunteer to various causes and an active member of Holy Trinity Parish – St. Mary Catholic Church.

Survivors include four sons: R. Nicholas and wife Georgiana of Oxford, Terrence and wife Sandra of Keota, Claude and wife Mary of Kalona and Kevin and wife Kathleen of Keota; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and three sisters: June Jarrard and Patricia Kline of Cedar Rapids and Frances Masterson of Coralville. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Raymond (Red) in 2005; two sisters: Catherine Lenzmeier and Betty Sova and three brothers: Leonard, James and Edwin.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 27, 2012, at Holy Trinity Parish – St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota, with Rev. Charles Fladung officating. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemeteries – St. Mary Cemetery in Keota. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2012, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota, where there will be a rosary at 4:00 and a wake service at 7:00.
