Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Doug J. Wallace, 70, a resident of Davenport, were Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 4105 N. Division Street, Davenport. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island.
Doug passed away peacefully on Friday, April 13, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center, East Rusholme Street, Davenport.
Doug was born on January 27, 1942 in Waukegan, Illinois, a son of Jim and Betty (DeBaun) Wallace. He was a 1960 graduate of Grayslake High School, Grayslake, Illinois. Doug was united in marriage to Barbara Kerker on November 27, 1981 at Ascension Chapel of Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois. He retired from Iowa Mutual Insurance Company in 2004.
Doug was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed racing, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association and to John F. Kennedy Catholic School.
Surviving Doug are his wife, Barb, children and their spouses; Barry and Rose Wallace, Port Byron, IL, Angie and Dan Murphy, Rapids City, IL, Sara and Greg Green, Donahue, IA, Christine Wallace, Davenport; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leo and Bev Kerker, Rock Island, numerous brothers-in law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. May they rest in peace.
