Davenport native Paul Miner, 28, pronounced perpetual vows of poverty, chastity and obedience to God in the Society of Jesus in St. Paul, Minn., on Aug. 11.
Miner attended Sacred Heart Cathedral School in Davenport and graduated from Jordan Catholic School and Alleman Catholic High School, both in Rock Island, Ill. He also graduated from Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill., with a degree in political science.
After a few years in the corporate job setting, he decided to follow the call to vocations through the Jesuits. After completing his novitiate, he took perpetual vows. Now a scholastic, he is studying for the priesthood at St. Louis University for the next three years, along with eight other men in his class.
He is the son of Roxanne and Patrick Miner, members of Sacred Heart Cathedral in Davenport.
