Human trafficking conference

DAVENPORT – “The Child Next Door,” a Quad Cities human trafficking conference, will take place Nov. 15 at St. Ambrose University. The event is for law enforcement, social service providers, medical professionals, legal personnel, government officials, faith‐based organizations and other interested individuals. Learn how to detect the signs, provide solutions and put a stop to the crime.
Presenters include former Iowa Senator Maggie Tinsman; Kendis Paris, national director of Truckers Against Trafficking; Tina Frundt, survivor and founder of Courtney’s House; psychiatrist Ghada Hamdan-Allen; Denise Timmins, assistant Iowa attorney general; and more.
Registration opens at 7:15 a.m., and the program runs from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Cost is $25 or $35/CEU.

A free kickoff event is Nov. 14 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the John Deere Planetarium at Augustana College, Rock Island, Ill.
