I.C. Deanery to celebrate Year of Faith with Advent choral service

IOWA CITY – The Iowa City Deanery will hold its “Year of Faith” celebration on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 4 p.m. at St. Patrick Church.  The celebration will be an Advent Choral Service presented by the choir of St. Patrick Church directed by Trevor Loes and organist Lee Riekki. The service will feature choral and organ selections as well as Scripture readings and congregational singing.  Bishop Martin Amos will preside over this one-hour service that will be free and open to the public.
The St. Patrick Choir will feature “What is This Lovely Fragrance” by Healey Willan, “Advent Message” by Martin How, “God is With Us” by Alexander Kastalsky, “O Come Emmanuel” arranged by Alice Parker, “Veiled in Darkness” by Glenn Rudolph, and “When God’s Time Had Ripened” by Alfred Fedak.
