WHEATLAND — The following events are slated at Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat, 2664 145th Ave.:
Sunday, Dec. 2 – Taizé Vigil Service, 5 p.m.
Taize is an ecumenical movement, drawing Christians of all denominations together in unified prayer. Friends of The Prairie and churches of all faith traditions in the area are being invited to participate. Future services will be held the first Sunday of each month at 5 p.m. followed by a soup supper. Good will offering.
Wednesday, Dec. 5 – The Bible in Iraq Slide Show, 10 a.m. to noon
This slide show was developed by chaplains deployed in Iraq (the biblical lands of the Chaldeans). Presenter Father Bill Kneemiller has been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Mass at 10 a.m., followed by the presentation, time for sharing and a light meal. Fee: $8.
Tuesday, Dec. 11 – Advent come to the Quiet, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Winter in its darkest time welcomes the Light of the World. Come and be in the quiet at this hectic time of Christmas preparation. Fee: $20.
