SIGOURNEY-Mary Jane Kerkove Kerber, age 80, of Sigourney, died Friday, November 30, 2012, at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney.

Mary was born December 22, 1931, near Sigourney, the daughter of John Leroy and Addie Louise (Spiess) Kerkove. On June 15, 1950, she married William (Bill) Kerber at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney. Mary was the neighborhood backyard babysitter and enjoyed reading, crocheting, cooking, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband: Bill; five children: Sheryl (Dennis) Clarahan, Debra (Francis) Clubb, Marcia (Martin) Konrad, Teresa (Ron) Hanchett and Chris Kerber; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; five brothers: Harold, Richard, Don, Pete and Francis and one sister: Carolyn Erwin. She was preceded in death by her parents; two children: John Michael and Karen Sue; great granddaughter: Mallory Clarahan; two brothers: James and Earl Ray and three sisters: Betty Ingle, Kathleen Bailey and Marlene Hicks.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney, with Revs. Charles Fladung and David Wilkening officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Sigourney. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 3, 2012, at Powell Funeral Home in Sigourney, where there will be a wake service at 4:00 p.m.
