St. James Elementary in Washington was awarded two grants from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation on Dec. 5. One grant was in the amount of $11,500 for a new math curriculum. The other was for $10,000 for media enhancement, which will include a projector and document camera for each classroom.
The Home and School Association gave $3,500 for matching funds towards the math curriculum.
Teresa Beenblossom said that since she began serving as principal last year, the Washington County Riverboat Foundation has awarded the school $81,772.
