To the Editor:
Frank Wessling’s editorial of Dec. 27 was predictable.
The Supreme Court’s recent ruling on the Second Amendment was one that stood out because they got it right!
The anti-gun zealots are always willing to demonize guns when an insane, murderous, suicidal person uses them in a rampage. They are willing to ignore any incident where a gun was used to prevent violence or save lives. Law enforcement, military, security guards all use the type of semi-automatic gun the anti-gun zealots want banned. Politicians, celebrities, even the pope are surrounded with guards with semi-automatic guns. Yet the anti-gun zealots want to restrict or ban the ordinary citizen from having these guns for protection or sporting purposes.
One of those sane, moral, responsible, “sensible adult” ordinary citizens might be a school staff member or a volunteer willing to protect someone else, but they could not any way because of the gun-free school laws. The same laws that attract insane killers.
