Lawrence B. Hawley, 73, of Peoria, Illinois, died on November 19, 2012 at Heartland Care Center in Peoria.  He was cremated at Simon Mortuary of Peoria.  There were no services held.

A mass for Larry will be offered at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 916 E. Rusholme Street, Davenport on February 9, 2013 at 8:30 a.m.  No visitation will be held.  The family will greet visitors in the Gathering Space at church after the mass.

Larry was born in Davenport, Iowa and was the oldest of five children.  He attended St. Paul’s grade school and graduated from St. Ambrose Academy.  He entered the Trappist Monastery in Peosta, Iowa.  After spending five years at the monastery, Larry joined the U. S. Army, where he proudly served his country for six years.  Larry went on to work at Peoria Charter Coach and retired after 20 years of service.

Surviving Larry are his wife, Janet, of Peoria, one daughter, Rebecca of Washington State, one son, Mark of Rockford, Illinois and two grandchildren.  Other survivors include brothers Steven of Davenport, Ronald of Bettendorf, a sister, Tena Polton of Davenport and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ena and a brother, Daniel.

Memorials may be made to the Handicapped Development Center of Davenport, Iowa.
