Blind to evil of abortion

To the Editor:
Shame on us! Shame on our country! We mourn the killing of children in schools and of people in theaters, but close our eyes and our hearts to the tragic killing of babies in their mothers’ womb.
The devil has so twisted our thinking with his lies that we can’t think straight.
When Jesus was on earth, his message was rejected by the leaders, the learned, the doctors of the law, the high priests, etc. It was the simple, the poor and the marginalized who accepted him. The same is going on today. Our leaders, our judges, our lawyers and our politicians are rejecting God and his commandments. Woe to them! Enough! They are employed by us — the American people — and each one of us needs to stand up and speak out to end this atrocity!
We need not wonder what has happened to our country or why we are in such terrible shape. We’ve done it to ourselves by shedding the blood of the innocents in the womb. And it’s not just abortion; it’s same-sex marriage, lack of morals, euthanasia and embryonic stem cell research. Have you ever heard of Sodom and Gomorrah in the Bible? We have lost the sense of sin!
Future generations will look back at our 40 years of Roe v. Wade in disbelief that we could have condoned such evil as the murder of over 50 million babies, just as we look back in disbelief and horror that such evil could have been carried out in Nazi concentration camps. These aborted babies, who would have been American citizens, could have contributed much to our country.
We need to turn back to God now and have him be our guiding light in this dark world.
