Peace Soup in Clinton

CLINTON – Peace Soup 2013, a series offering community and discussion, will take place at St. Boniface Hall on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. from Feb. 19 to March 19. Attendees may join Prince of Peace Parish’s Pax Christi for a simple meal of soup and bread, then a presentation on the theme of “Faith’s Response to Violence.” Talks include:
Feb. 19: “Violence In and Around Clinton.” Panel includes community professionals.
Feb. 26: “Human Trafficking.” Speaker is former state Senator Maggie Tinsman.
March 5: “Elder Abuse.” Presenter is Kassie Streveler, MSW, of McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, Ill.
March 12: “Wage Injustice in the Workforce.” Session will focus on the causes of wage discrimination and on the people exploited.
March 19: “Healing Violence Through Faith.” Session will explore how to use prayer to foster hope and support for victims while promoting peace.
