I attended my first pro-life meeting in February 1973, but my first March for Life on Jan. 25, 2013.  There was a wonderful diversity of age, ethnicity, race, religion and testimonies. The youth far outnumbered us pro-life veterans among more than 500,000 marchers in Washington, D.C.
The youths’ enthusiasm is inspiring while their wisdom and experience, despite their youth, is humbling.
I was both grateful and awed to finally meet a few of my pro-life heroes: Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ), who has been working for human rights for 31 years, and attorney Tom Brejcha of Chicago. He left a profitable law practice to help found the nonprofit pro-life law organization, the Thomas More Society (TMS), to defend Joe Scheidler against the National Organization of Women in the 1990s.
