Hiawatha — Massimo Faggioli, theology professor at St. Thomas University, will speak on “Liturgical Reform: The Crucial Impact and Legacy of Vatican II”  at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church Feb. 24 at 2 p.m.
Newton — Micah Kiel of St. Ambrose University will present “How Should Catholics Read the Bible?” at Sacred Heart Church  Feb. 12 at 7 p.m.
LITURGY/PRAYER
Clinton – All are welcome to vespers at The Canticle with the Sisters of St. Francis at 6 p.m. on Sundays from Feb. 17 to March 24. Reflections will focus on places where Ss. Francis and Clare found God.
Davenport —  A healing Mass is Feb. 14 at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Confessions start at 6 p.m., praise music at 6:30 p.m., and Mass at 7:15 p.m.
Davenport – A pro-life Mass will be celebrated Feb. 17 at 7 a.m. at St. Anthony Church.
Davenport – At St. Paul the Apostle Church, 9:30 a.m. Mass Feb. 10 will include a blessing for unborn children and their parents. Congre­gants will also pray for couples hoping for a child and for couples who have lost a child.

RETREATS
Davenport – The Christian Service Committee of Our Lady of Victory Parish is sponsoring an ecumenical renewal day, “Blessed Are the Hands That Give,” on Feb. 23 for adults with developmental disabilities, their families and friends. Wheatland — Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat will hold the following events.  On Feb. 14 is “A Prairie Valentine” from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Fee: $30 for two. From Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. to Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. is “Prayer: Emerging Love” with Sister Janet Mallak, SSND. Fee: $150. On  Feb. 19 is “Lenten Come to the Quiet” from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Fee: $20. Clinton – An ecumenical Peace Concert will take place at Zion Lutheran Church Feb. 10 at 3 p.m. The free concert is co-sponsored by the Sisters of St. Francis. Performers include singers from Prince of Peace Parish and Sisters of St. Francis, as well as bell choirs.
Clinton – Knights of Columbus will hold fish fries at St. Boniface Hall on Fridays from Feb. 15 to March 22 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Cost for fried or baked fish is $8 for adults, $4 for children younger than 12, and free for children three and younger. Cost for seven jumbo shrimp is $9.
Coralville – The St. Thomas More Valentine Party (for adults) will be Feb. 9 from 7-10 p.m. in the church lower level. Bring a friend and a snack to share. Donations are accepted at the door. For more information, call (319) 338-9290.
Davenport – St. Alphonsus Parish will hold Lenten fish fries Feb. 15 and 22 and March 1, 8, 15 and 22 from 4-7 p.m. Cost is $9 for adults and $3 for children. Desserts cost $1.
Fort Madison – Holy Family Parish’s Mardi Gras celebration will be at McAleer Hall Feb. 9 from 5-11 p.m. This fundraiser includes appetizers, dinner, casino games, photos,  music, a silent auction and a king cake raffle. Tickets are $25 at the parish office.
Grinnell – Knights of Columbus will hold fish fries in St. Mary’s religious education center on Fridays from Feb. 15 to March 22 from 5-7 p.m. Menu includes fish, potatoes, and macaroni and cheese. Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 5-14 and free for children 4 and younger.
Iowa City — St. Mary Parish’s Knights of Columbus will hold Lenten fish fries at the KC Family Center on Fridays from Feb. 8 to March 22 from 5-7 p.m.  Catfish, shrimp and salmon dinners are $10 each; extra fish or shrimp is $3. Shrimp and catfish baskets are available for $8. Iowa City – A Mardi Gras celebration and pancake breakfast will take place at St. Patrick Church Social Hall Feb. 10, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Donations of $5 per person or $20 per family of four or more (free for children 5 and younger) will be accepted.
Iowa City — St. Mary Parish’s Knights of Columbus will host pancake breakfasts on Feb. 10 and April 7 from 8 a.m. to noon at the KC Family Center, 4776 American Legion Road. Freewill offerings will be accepted.
LeClaire – Our Lady of the River Parish will hold a fish fry on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 13, after the 6 p.m. Mass. Menu includes fish, soup and grilled cheese. Cost is $9 for adults, $4 for children 10 and younger. For more information, call Mike Hames at (563) 529-3638.
Marengo – A Mardi Gras party will take place at St. Patrick church Feb. 10 from 4-7 p.m. There will be carnival games and prizes. Dinner includes gumbo, beans and rice, crawfish etouffee and chicken. Freewill donations will be accepted.
Mount Pleasant – St. Alphonsus Altar & Rosary Society’s annual dinner will take place Feb. 10 in Manning Hall. Meal tickets are sold at the door and cost $8.50 for adults, $3.50 for children ages 4-10 and free for children younger than 3. Menu includes turkey, meatballs and ham.
Oxford — The youth group of St. Mary’s in Oxford and St. Peter’s in Cosgrove welcomes people to Mardi Gras Feb. 9. Mass is at St. Mary Auditorium at 4 p.m. Food will be served from 5-7 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults, $7 for seventh- to 12th-graders, $5 for kindergarteners to sixth-graders, and free for children 4 and younger. Riverside —  St. Mary Parish will hold a pancake breakfast at the parish center Feb. 10 from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children and free for children younger than 5. The morning will include a craft and bake sale.
Rock Island, Ill. – The Diocese of Davenport’s Catholic Young Adult Network welcomes young adults to a service day on Saturday, Feb. 23, in the Quad Cities. Volunteers will help River Bend Food Bank’s Mobile Food Pantry set up at Second Baptist Church and deliver groceries from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. To RSVP or get more information, email davenportcyan@gmail.com.
West Liberty — St. Joseph’s Knights of Columbus will hold fish fries Feb. 8 and 22 and March 8 and 22 from 5-7:30 p.m. in St. Joseph’s Parish Life Center. Cost is $9.50 for adults and $4.50 for people younger than 13.
