Davenport Assumption High School students give their impressions of pope

I think that our new pope will be a great leader of the Church. I think that he was a good choice because he came from a poor country and was a very simple man. He took the bus, made his own food and lived by himself.  He is a very holy man and loves God very much. I think that he was chosen relatively quickly because that is who God wanted to lead the Church and the Holy Spirit guided the cardinals to the decision.

I think the new pope will do a good job as a leader as well as a model Catholic. He is very smart and that will also help him. I would like to see him try to incorporate some new technologies into his teaching and other duties as pope.  I also think that he will improve the Catholic following in the Americas, especially Latin America and South America.  I also like how he chose a name unique to any pope before, and St. Francis is one of my favorite saints. Overall I think he will respond well to God’s call and be a very good leader as pope.
