Lourdes Catholic School, Bettendorf students feel pope is caring

I’m very excited to have a new pope and that I got to see Pope Benedict XVI retire and then see Pope Francis be elected. I think he’ll make a great pope. He helps the poor and those who don’t have as much as I do. I like his attitude and determination to help the poor. The only things I’m worried about are his customs since he’s not from North America, not that that’s bad. The hopes I have for him are to keep working with the poor and to keep Catholic schools going. I hope he teaches those who don’t believe in God to do so. I’m really excited about having a new Catholic leader to teach us more about God’s works and miracles. I think he’ll be a very special pope.

I think he is going to be a kind and peace-seeking pope. I think he’s cool because he is the first pope to choose the name Francis. The new pope is very kind. He likes to help the poor, and he likes to be around people. He was also the first pope to come from the Western Hemisphere. I hope that he will lead us into giving money to the poor and bring houses to the homeless and bring food, water and clothes to the poor. I think the new pope is a very nice guy. I think the pope will become an amazing pope.
