DAVENPORT — Students with St. Ambrose University’s Ambrosians for Peace and Justice stepped up this Lenten season and expanded their annual Fast Fest.
Father Chuck Adam, director of campus ministry, said for years the school has held a 30-hour fast during Lent. The university’s dining service, Sodexo Campus Services, donates the money that would have been spent by participants on their meals through their meal plan.
“This year (Food Fast) has gone to a whole new level,” Fr. Adam said.
“We wanted more excitement and realized we wanted more than just fasting from food,” explained Katie Zorn, a sophomore and vice president of Ambrosians for Peace and Justice.
