Eighteen Catholic students in the Diocese of Davenport have been awarded scholarships through the generosity of the late Marguerite Ritzinger of Sigourney. She left money for scholarships for seminarians and students to attend colleges or universities.
Eighty-eight students applied for the 2013-14 scholarships, said Char Maaske, diocesan chief financial officer. At least one student from each deanery received a scholarship this year. The recipients are:
Aaron Adam, Mary Agnoli, John Blough, Daniel Byrne, Michael Byrne, Alexandrea Capriola, Samantha Eckrich, Maria Finan, Bridget Garnica, Tara Gent, Katherine Hopkins, Sarah Kottenstette, Quinn Montgomery, Matthew Neubauer, Leah Norcross, Sarah Schwind, Colleen Tague and Jacqueline Vonderhaar.
