Prairie Retreat offers events

WHEATLAND — Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat  invites people to the following spring events:
On April 22 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. is “Desert Day for Clergy,” a day of quiet reflection, nutritious food and a pause from busy schedules following Lent and Easter. The day is open to pastors of all denominations.
On April 24 and May 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. are “Come to the Quiet” retreats. Participants may enjoy solitude, the greening of spring and nutritious  food. Fee: $20.
On May 1 from 10 a.m. to noon is a mini-retreat beginning with Mass and including a variety of programs. Lunch to follow. Fee: $8.
On May 5 is a Taize Vigil Service at 5 p.m. Taize draws Christians of all denominations together in unified prayer. Future services will be held the first Sunday of each month at 5 p.m. followed by a soup supper.
On May 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. is “Celebrating Mothers: A Perfect Gift for Mother’s Day” with Sister Judith Carrara, CHM. Participants will reminisce, pay tribute to their mothers’ accomplishments and celebrate their influence. They will also play a Mother’s Day game, enjoy lunch featuring Mom’s home cooking and close with a recognition ceremony.
