WASHINGTON — St. James Elementary is seeking a principal for the 2013-14 academic year as the school’s current principal, Teresa Beenblossom, prepares to begin work as principal of Kalona Elementary and Washington Township Elementary.
Beenblossom said the position at the K-5 schools will allow her to spend more time with her husband, Marty, and two children, Brynn and Luke. “I apologize, am deeply saddened, and am wrestling emotionally with the fact I may be letting my St. James family down,” she wrote in a letter to parents. “I am grateful, however, for the reduced number of evening meetings to spend more time with my family, the professional opportunity laid before me, and the opportunity to serve St. James in a different capacity.  This is the hardest decision I have ever made. I feel however, I was called.”
