‘Walking with Jesus’ program promotes health, prayer

Four Scott County parishes will challenge each other in “Walking with Jesus — A Summer Walking and Healthy Eating Program.”
Our Lady of Lourdes in Bettendorf began its walking program seven years ago and has challenged Holy Family Parish in Davenport for the past three years. This year, Our Lady of the River Parish in LeClaire and St. Ann Parish in Long Grove will join the challenge, which begins May 25 and concludes Aug. 16.
“We are taking steps towards a healthier you.  Walking is an easy, simple way to help you feel better. Walking also allows you quiet time for prayer and reflection,” said Cathy Thennes, parish nurse at Our Lady of Lourdes.
