Gun rights laws protect life

To the Editor:
It seems the media, including editorialist Frank Wessling, politicians like Eric Holder and racial activists like Al Sharpton cannot wait for incidents like the Trayvon Martin shooting to happen. It gives them another opportunity to blame such incidents on racial prejudice or gun rights laws.
Race was not an issue in this incident; the Stand Your Ground law was not an issue in this incident. But attempted murder and self defense sure were!
In the states where our natural law of protection, and other Second Amendment rights have been somewhat restored (Iowa’s recent passage of a Shall Issue Law is an example), violent crime rates including murder are down!
I think the push back from Christians should be against any law that limits the protection of life.
