Bettendorf — Musician and liturgist David Haas will offer a live concert Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m. at St. John Vianney Church. Cost is $15 (students and seniors), $20 (adults) or $25 (at the door). He will lead a liturgy workshop Sept. 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at St. John Vianney. Fee is $20 (students) or $25 (adults). Scholarships are available. Burlington – The CAFÉ (Catholic Adult Fellowship Evening) opens for a second season in the Notre Dame School cafeteria on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 6:45 p.m. as Father David Steinle presents “Why Do Catholics Do That?” On Oct. 2,  Deacon Bob Glaser will share his personal journey of faith. Child care is provided.
Davenport – Eagles’ Wings will offer “Just Listen,” an interactive DVD presentation, Sept. 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. to help participants learn to be effective listeners and improve relationships. Registration is $40: call (563) 324-7263. Bring a sack lunch.

LITURGY/PRAYER
Clinton – The Clinton Franciscans invite people to celebrate the International Day of Peace with a daylong vigil Sept. 20 beginning at 8 a.m. at the Canticle Chapel. Columbus Junction – A healing Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church Oct. 2 Confessions at 6 p.m., rosary at 6:30 p.m., Mass at 7 p.m. Adoration, praise and worship follow Mass.
Davenport – All are invited to the Davenport Deanery Year of Faith celebration Sept. 22 at 3 p.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Bishop Martin Amos will lead evening prayer. Knights of Columbus will host a cookout afterward.
LeClaire – A guitar Mass will be held  Sunday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the River Catholic Church. Parishioner Mary Anna Parris, who is organizing the music as a birthday celebration, invites all to attend.

MEETINGS
Bettendorf – An Understanding Grief Educational Program will take place at St. John Vianney Church in the Vianney Room for seven Tuesdays beginning Sept. 24 from 1-2:30 p.m. Presenter is Gail Votroubek of Genesis Hospice Ber­ea­vement. An RSVP is helpful: call Nancy McBride at (563) 355-5766.
Davenport – A Soaking With a Purpose prayer meeting will take place at Eagles’ Wings on Sept. 27 at 7 p.m.
Davenport – The Grief Support Group at St. Anthony Parish will start a nine-week program on Oct. 1. The group meets on Tuesdays from 3:30–5 p.m. at the school library at the far end of the church parking lot. People of any faith background who are grieving the loss of a loved one are invited. SOCIALS
Camanche – Church of the Visitation will hold a breakfast fundraiser Sept. 22 from 8-11:30 a.m. Cost is $7 per adult and $3 per child age 6-12. Kids 5 and younger eat free. Menu will include pancakes, waffles, eggs, sausage and more. For more information, call (563) 259-1188.
Davenport – Humility of Mary Housing, Inc. is celebrating 21 years of service to the Quad Cities with a jazz brunch at Crow Valley Golf Club on Sept. 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $60. Vocalist Sarah Marie Young will be accompanied by piano and string bass. An auction will offer lunch for six with KWQC personality Paula Sands, a 16-seat suite for a River Bandits baseball game and 10 Ferris wheel tickets, and breakfast for six at the Putnam Museum with a private tour of the “Diana: A Celebration” exhibit. Davenport – Bingo Night will take place Sept. 21 from 5–8 p.m. at All Saints Catholic School. Cost is $5 for the first card and $1 per extra card. Proceeds will help send Holy Family Parish youths to the National Catholic Youth Conference. The even­ing includes a silent auction, bake sale, prizes and NCYC videos. Bingo starts at 6 p.m.
Davenport – “Treasures in Heaven,” a garage sale, is Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the All Saints School gym. Proceeds benefit the Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish Center Building Fund. A bounce house and food will be available.
Iowa City – St. Wenceslaus Parish’s fall turkey dinner is Oct. 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults, $4 for children ages 4-10 and free for children under 4. Take-outs are available from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ron Johnson and Jill VanDorpe will provide music. Kolaches will be sold.
Lone Tree – St. Mary’s fall auction is Sept. 22 at the Lone Tree American Legion. Silent auction runs from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Lunch starts at 11 a.m. Regular auction follows at 1 p.m. People may bid on homemade pies, cakes and crafts.
Mechanicsville – St. Mary Parish will hold its annual ice cream social and country store on Sept. 22 in the parish hall from 4-6:30 p.m. Cost is $6 for adults, $4 for children and free for children 3 and younger. A meal will be served. The event includes crafts, baked goods and a quilt raffle.
Melrose — St. Patrick Parish will hold its fall festival Sept. 29 beginning with 10 a.m. Mass, followed by a dinner of ham and roast beef from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 5 to 11 and free for children 4 and younger. Carry-outs are available: call (641) 777-6203 by noon Sept. 28. The event includes a country store, raffle, cash drawings and an auction that begins at 1 p.m.
Pella – St. Mary Parish invites people to its Fall Fest on Sept. 29 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The day includes “punkin chunkin” (a pumpkin launching event), a country store, children’s games, cake walk, face painting, hay rack rides, foods, beer, wine sampling, bingo and cotton candy. Solon – St. Mary Parish will hold its Harvest Festival on Sept. 22. A pork and chicken dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults and $6 for children ages 6-12. Purchase tickets at weekend Masses, the parish office or at the door. Carry-outs will be available. The day includes children’s and family activities, a country store, silent auction. There will be a raffle with a first prize of a Kinnick Stadium suite for Oct. 26. Raffle tickets cost $5 each or five for $20.
Victor – St. Bridget Parish’s chicken and ham family-style supper is Sept. 22 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. in the church basement. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children 10 and younger, and free for children 5 and younger. Carry-outs are available. The event includes a country store.
Wilton – St. Mary Parish’s fall ham and turkey dinner is Oct. 6 from noon to 3 p.m. at the parish hall. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-12, and free for children 4 and younger. Carry-outs are available. The event includes a country store, crafts, grab bags and homemade treats.
