Janet McCabe displays some of the Christmas items available at Cinderella’s Cellar for its annual Christmas open house. The event will be Oct. 26 at the resale store, which will have extended hours for the open house.

DAVENPORT — Christmas gift items, trees, wreaths, lights, holiday clothing and more will be available at Cinderella’s Cellar resale shop for the annual Christmas open house. Rooms are being set up in the resale shop, which benefits The Kahl Home.
The open house will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 26 at Cinderella’s Cellar, 230 W. 35th St. in Davenport.
“There will be hundreds of Christmas and holiday items,” said Debbie Cassel of the Catholic Service Board, which operates the facility.
Board members, all volunteers, take turns working in the shop. “Many times our volunteers rework the wreaths and trees so they are brand new for our customers,” she said.
Something new for this year’s open house is an “ugly sweater” section for holiday parties.
Catholic Service Board members recently turned over all the clothing in the store so that fall and winter items are on display. All seasonal items that did not sell were donated to other organizations, Cassel noted.
A new feature at Cinderella’s Cellar is a vintage/costume jewelry case. “We recently received a generous donation of new and vintage jewelry, which will be available during this event,” she said. New cases were brought in to display all of the jewelry.
Regular selection of adult and children’s clothing, shoes, housewares, accessories, gifts, antiques and small furniture items are on sale and will continue to be sold during the Christmas open house.
Cinderella’s Cellar is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Donations are accepted during regular store hours.
