Sr. Doris Walsh, BVM

DUBUQUE – Sister Doris Walsh, BVM, 88, died Oct. 1 at Marian Hall.
She was born Jan. 21, 1925. She entered the BVM congregation from St. Matthew Parish, St. Louis, Sept. 8, 1946. She professed first vows March 19, 1949, and final vows Aug. 15, 1954.
In the Diocese of Davenport, Sr. Walsh taught at Hayes High School in Muscatine (1965–66). She taught secondary school in Dubuque, Waterloo, Sioux City, Fort Dodge and Mason City, Iowa; Santa Barbara, Calif.; Chicago and St. Louis, where she also served in pastoral care. In Chicago, she ministered in pastoral care, served as administrative assistant, and as a volunteer for adults with handicaps.
Burial is in the Mount Carmel cemetery, Dubuque.
