IOWA CITY — A kickoff breakfast for the CRS Rice Bowl will be Jan. 25 from 9-11 a.m. at St. Patrick Church. At this simple rice breakfast, participants will receive materials and ideas for this Catholic Relief Services program, which encourages participants to fast, pray and give during Lent.
The Diocese of Davenport’s social action office asks that one or two people from each parish or school serve as Rice Bowl coordinators. These coordinators will be given Fair Trade T-shirts, materials and support. Send names of coordinators and their shirt sizes to the social action office by Dec. 19.
