Sister Kathryn Kreager, 92, died Monday, January 13, 2014 at Bishop Drumm Retirement Center, Johnston, IA. Services at Bishop Drumm Our Lady of Peace Chapel are Tuesday, January 14 at 4:00 pm. Visitation at Humility of Mary Center, Magnificat Chapel, 820 W. Central Park Ave, Davenport, Wednesday, January 15: Rosary at 4:00; Vigil Service at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass, Thursday, January 16 at 11:00 am in Magnificat Chapel. Burial follows in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, downtown Davenport, is assisting with the Davenport arrangements.

Kathryn Kreager was born June 1, 1921 in Duluth, MN to George and Mary Brown Kreager. On January 6, 1945, she entered the Congregation of the Humility of Mary, professing vows on July 17, 1947. She received a BA from State Teachers College in Duluth and also attended Marycrest College in Davenport and Wisconsin State University.

She taught physical education at the Ottumwa Heights Academy and College; she was a librarian at Bourgade High School, Phoenix and also at Marycrest. She retired in 1996, moving to Humility of Mary Center in 2007. In 2012 she moved to Bishop Drumm where she resided until her death.

Sister Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert, and sisters, Claire, Doris, and Margaret. She is survived by her sister Mary Bothwell of Maplewood, MN, nieces and nephews, as well as Sisters and Associates of her CHM community. Memorials may be made to the Sisters of Humility of Mary.
