Burlington – The CAFÉ (Catholic Adult Fellowship Evening) will be open in the Notre Dame School cafeteria at 6:45 p.m. Feb. 5 for “Faith in Daily Life::  Health”  with Dr. Kimberly Marshall.

Burlington — “Sacred Heart of Jesus: A True Love Story” will be presented by Father James Kubicki, SJ, on Saturday, Feb. 15, from 9-11 a.m. at St. Paul Church. Registration and light breakfast start at 8:30 a.m. All are welcome, and there is a free-will offering.

Iowa City – The Newman Center scholars will present their seminars Feb. 2 and 9 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Newman Catholic Student Center. Pre­senters for Feb. 2 are Katherine Cobb on “Scrupulosity,” Jessica Kohler on “Catholicism and the Classics in the Classroom” and Alex Iben Cahill on “Heroic Catholics in Academia.” Presenters for Feb. 9 are Mary Springer on “Architectural Styles of Area Catholic Chur­ches,” Brian Prugh on “What Makes a Work of Art Catholic” and Robert Soto on “World of Numbers.”

Rock Island, Ill. – “Remembering Jesus,” a multi-week DVD series on a Catholic approach to Alzheimer’s disease, will begin Feb. 2 at St. Pius X Catholic Church from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in Farrell Hall. A schedule of future dates will be distributed on Feb 2. Suggested donation is $5.

Newton – A free Vibrant Faith @ Home PLUS workshop will aim to give parish leaders tools to empower families to grow in faith at home. Clinton – Prince of Peace Parish invites adults to Christian Experience Weekends Feb. 14-16 for women and Feb. 28 to March 2 for men at Prince of Peace Catholic School. DeWitt – TEC (Teens Encounter Christ), a retreat for 11th-12th graders, will be held Feb. 15-17 at St. Joseph Parish. TEC helps teens in discerning the next steps in their faith journey.  Cost is $55 per person. Riverside – The Iowa City Deanery will be hosting Christian Experience Weekends at St. Mary’s in Riverside. Wheatland —  Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat invites people to the following events. On Feb. 2 at 5 p.m. is a Taize’ vigil service. Supper follows. Free will offering. Davenport – Our Lady of Victory Parish invites adults with disabilities, their friends and family to a renewal day at the parish center on Feb. 22 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Designed to help participants deepen their relationship with God, the day includes social time, activities, sharing, singing and prayer. Davenport – Sacred Heart Cathedral will be hosting a St. Valentine’s pancake breakfast on Sunday, Feb. 9 following the 9 a.m. Mass. The event is sponsored by the Sacred Heart Knights of Columbus. Cost is $8 per person and free for children under age 5. Proceeds will benefit Sacred Heart’s new diocesan hall and gathering space.

Preston – Ss. Mary & Joseph Parish of Sugar Creek-Bryant will hold an omelet and pancake breakfast Feb. 23 at Preston Town Hall from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults, $4 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and younger. Riverside – St. Mary Parish will host an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast and bake sale Feb. 16 from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children ages 5-10 and free for children under 5. Proceeds will benefit St. Mary’s steeple fund.

Rock Island, Ill. – Benet House Retreat Center invites married couples to explore questions about their relationship with God and with their spouse on Feb. 14 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Bring the evening to a close with a recommitment of love followed by a candlelit dessert.
