Sharing God’s Blessings: Planning for retirement & beyond

National studies show that most people do not have sufficient money saved for their retirement. Financial planners say that people over 40 should try to save up to 20 percent of their income for their later years. It is hard to imagine how much individuals will need, and they usually seek assistance to make that determination. The older we get the more we seem to have unknowns.
Likewise, less than half the population has a will. Your will tells your family and friends your wishes for disposal of your estate when you die. No one wants to leave this for the courts to settle.
I invite you to go to www.cfddgift.org and view all the estate planning materials at your disposal. This web address is part of the Diocese of Davenport website. You will find donor stories, ways to give, what to give and how to plan. When you click on Plan Your Will, you are able to create your user name and password and then complete the wills planning document to take to your attorney. There are also short videos to watch in preparation for completing this document.
Using this website, you are able to sign up to receive a monthly electronic newsletter. This will be emailed to you each month, giving timely information on a variety of topics. If you would like further information, please contact Sister Laura Goedken, OP, at (563) 888-4252 or Goedken@davenportdiocese.org.
